Virginia Tech English Graduate Student Organization Conference
Re-envision, Re-formation, Re-creation
Saturday February 25, 2012

Graduate students are hybrid creatures in academia; we are simultaneously educators and students, innovators and learners. As we strive to master the foundational knowledge of our disciplines, we also challenge preconceptions, rethink our assumptions, and explore neglected or newly discovered areas.

Ultimately, we create new knowledge.

This year, the Virginia Tech English Graduate Student Organization (EGSO) warmly invites our colleagues from all disciplines to share the ways in which they are revising, reforming, and recreating accepted disciplinary knowledge to form the next generation of scholarship.

We welcome interdisciplinary approaches and also encourage proposals from traditional humanities.

Possible Panel & Paper Topics (but not at all limited to):
  • Reimagining Teaching & Pedagogy
  • Examining Texts with Fresh Eyes
  • Digital Technologies: Uses, Effects & Culture
  • Refreshing Disciplines, Revising Standards
  • Creative Works, Breaking Boundaries: Reviewing Literature
  • Blurring the Lines: Interdisciplinarity in the Classroom & Research
  • Globalizing the Mind & Academy
  • Original Creative Works
